Care & Washing Guide
On Arrival
Organza gowns will arrive creased from transit packaging. This is normal and expected — it does not indicate a fault. Allow 24–48 hours for the fabric to relax before wearing, and follow the steps below to restore the silhouette.
- Step 1 — Hang immediately: Remove from packaging as soon as it arrives and hang on a padded hanger in a well-ventilated space. Do not leave folded. Many creases will begin to drop within a few hours simply from the weight of the fabric.
- Step 2 — Steam, do not iron: Use a handheld garment steamer held at least 5–10cm from the fabric surface. Move the steamer slowly downward in sections. Never press the steamer head directly against the organza — the heat concentration will mark or melt the fabric.
- Step 3 — Feather embellishments: Do not steam directly onto the feather trim. Hold the steamer near (not on) the feathers and allow the ambient steam to relax them. Gently reshape feathers by hand while still warm. Do not pull or comb feathers — they will separate.
- Step 4 — Allow to cool hanging: After steaming, leave the gown hanging for at least 30 minutes before wearing. Organza sets its shape as it cools — wearing it immediately after steaming may re-crease the fabric.
- If no steamer is available: Hang the gown in a bathroom during a hot shower. The ambient steam from the shower will relax most creases without direct contact. This is the safest method for the feather trim.

Hand Washing Step-by-Step
- Step 1: Fill a clean basin with cold water. Add a small amount of pH-neutral delicate detergent (silk or wool wash is ideal). Do not use standard laundry detergent.
- Step 2: Submerge the gown gently. Do not agitate, scrub, or wring. Gently move the fabric through the water for 1–2 minutes.
- Step 3: Rinse thoroughly in cold clean water until all detergent is removed. Residual detergent will stiffen the organza.
- Step 4: Do not wring. Gently press the gown against the side of the basin to remove excess water, then lay flat on a clean dry towel and roll the towel to absorb moisture.
- Step 5: Hang immediately on a padded hanger in a well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight. Allow to dry fully before storing.
- Feather trim during washing: Wet feathers will clump. After drying, gently separate and reshape feathers by hand. Do not use a comb or brush.
Ongoing Care
- Keep away from direct sunlight when drying and storing to preserve the Pink colour.
- If ironing is required, use the lowest setting with a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric. Never iron directly on the organza or feather embellishments.
- Store hanging in a breathable garment bag. Do not compress under other garments — the organza and feather trim will not recover from sustained compression.
- Avoid perfume, hairspray, and deodorant contact with the fabric — alcohol-based products will mark organza.
