Care & Maintenance

• Pre-wash before cutting — hand wash in cold water with a mild silk-safe detergent to account for the 3% shrinkage before pattern cutting
• Hand wash only — do not machine wash; the agitation of a machine cycle can damage the satin weave and cause irreversible pilling on the face side
• Do not wring — gently press excess water out by rolling the fabric in a clean towel; wringing distorts the satin weave and causes permanent creasing
• Dry flat or hang — lay flat on a clean surface or hang on a padded hanger; do not tumble dry
• Iron on silk setting — use a low-heat iron on the reverse (matte) side; always use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric face to protect the satin lustre
• Store away from direct light — silk yellows with prolonged UV exposure; store rolled or folded in acid-free tissue in a dark, dry location
