• Use a mesh laundry bag — the open crochet structure can catch on other items in the wash; a mesh bag prevents snagging
• Do not bleach — bleach weakens cotton fibres over time and will cause the white or beige thread to yellow unevenly
• Lay flat or hang to dry — do not tumble dry; the cotton thread will shrink and the lace structure will distort under heat
• Iron on medium heat while damp — cotton crochet lace irons beautifully when slightly damp; iron on the reverse side to preserve the raised texture of the lace pattern on the face
