A jacquard burnt-out weave is one of the more demanding textile constructions — the pattern is created by selectively dissolving fibres from a blended fabric, leaving a raised, semi-transparent motif against a sheer ground. On this curtain, that motif is a large peony: full-bloom, graphic, and unmistakably considered. The base fabric is 50% viscose and 50% polyester — the viscose gives it drape and a subtle lustre; the polyester gives it structure and washability.
