How to Measure & Calculate How Much to Order
This wallpaper is sold by the square metre (m²). You need to calculate the total area of your wall, add a waste allowance, and enter that figure at checkout. Here is exactly how to do it.
Step 1 — Measure your wall
Using a tape measure, measure:
- Width — the full horizontal distance of the wall you want to cover
- Height — the full vertical distance from floor to ceiling (or from skirting board to ceiling if preferred)
Measure in metres (m) for the simplest calculation. If your tape measure shows centimetres, divide by 100 to convert (e.g. 320 cm ÷ 100 = 3.2 m). If you measure in feet or inches, use the conversions below.

Step 2 — Calculate your wall area
Multiply your wall width by your wall height:
Wall area (m²) = Width (m) × Height (m)
Example: Wall is 3.5 m wide and 2.6 m tall → 3.5 × 2.6 = 9.1 m²
Step 3 — Subtract doors and windows (optional but recommended)
If your wall has a door or window, you can subtract those areas to avoid over-ordering. Measure each opening (width × height) and subtract from your total.
Example: Door is 0.9 m wide × 2.1 m tall = 1.89 m². Subtract from 9.1 m² → 9.1 − 1.89 = 7.21 m²
However, for mural wallpaper with a continuous print, it is often better to order the full wall area including openings so the pattern flows correctly across the entire wall. If in doubt, include the full wall area.
Step 4 — Add a waste allowance (10–15% recommended)
Always order slightly more than your calculated area to account for trimming, alignment, and minor errors. We recommend adding 10% for smooth walls and 15% for walls with corners, alcoves, or irregular features.
Order quantity (m²) = Wall area × 1.10 (for 10% waste)
Order quantity (m²) = Wall area × 1.15 (for 15% waste)
Example (10% waste): 9.1 m² × 1.10 = 10.01 m² → round up to 10.5 m² or the next available size
Step 5 — What to enter at checkout

Installation Guide
For paste-the-wall materials (Silk Cloth, Canvas, Glitter Silk Canvas, Straw Grain, 3D Embossed Relief):
- Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, smooth, and free of dust or grease. Fill any holes or cracks and sand smooth before starting.
- Apply a coat of wallpaper primer or diluted PVA to the wall and allow to dry fully.
- Apply wallpaper paste evenly to the wall surface (not the wallpaper).
- Align the first panel carefully from the top, smoothing downward with a wallpaper brush or squeegee to remove air bubbles.
- Trim excess at the top and bottom with a sharp blade and straight edge.
- Wipe away any paste that seeps onto the surface with a damp cloth immediately.
- Allow to dry fully before touching or decorating around the mural.
For self-adhesive materials (Self-Adhesive Canvas, Self-Adhesive PVC):
- Clean the wall surface thoroughly. Self-adhesive wallpaper requires a smooth, non-porous surface for best adhesion — painted plaster, tiles, or glass are ideal.
- Peel back a small section of the backing paper and align the panel at the top of the wall.
- Slowly peel and press downward, smoothing with a squeegee or credit card to eliminate air bubbles as you go.
- Do not stretch the material — this can distort the print.
- Self-adhesive variants can be repositioned within the first few minutes of application before the adhesive sets fully.
Important: Textured, uneven, or unpainted walls may affect adhesion and print quality. A smooth, primed surface is strongly recommended for all material types.
Safety & Care Notes

- Ensure adequate ventilation during installation, particularly when using wallpaper paste or working with self-adhesive PVC materials. Open windows and doors to allow fresh air circulation.
- Self-adhesive PVC contains plasticisers. Avoid prolonged skin contact during installation. Wash hands after handling.
- Keep materials away from open flames. Wallpaper is not fire-rated unless specifically stated.
- Not suitable for use on surfaces that are damp, wet, or subject to condensation unless using the Self-Adhesive PVC variant, which offers moisture resistance.
- Keep out of reach of children during installation. Adhesive backing and sharp installation tools present a hazard.
- Store unused rolls flat or loosely rolled in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading or adhesive degradation before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this wallpaper in a bathroom or kitchen?
Yes, but only the Self-Adhesive PVC variant is waterproof and suitable for high-humidity environments such as bathrooms and kitchens. All other materials are not moisture-resistant and should not be used in wet areas. If in doubt, choose Self-Adhesive PVC for any room where steam or splashing is likely.
I’m renting — will this damage my walls?
The self-adhesive variants (Self-Adhesive Canvas and Self-Adhesive PVC) are designed to be removable. However, removal results vary depending on the wall surface, paint type, and how long the wallpaper has been in place. On freshly painted or delicate surfaces, some paint may lift on removal. We recommend testing a small area first. Paste-the-wall variants are intended for permanent installation and are not suitable for rental properties.
How do I know how many square metres to order?
Measure your wall width and height in metres, multiply them together to get your area in m², then multiply by 1.10 to add a 10% waste allowance. What is the difference between 3D Embossed Relief and the other materials?
The 3D Embossed Relief material has a physically raised surface — the pattern is embossed into the substrate, so you can feel the texture with your hand. All other materials have a flat surface with a printed 3D visual effect. If you want a truly tactile, sculptural wall finish, choose 3D Embossed Relief. If you prefer a smooth surface with visual depth, any of the other materials will achieve that.
